What if I have a relief carrier? How much attention do they actually give these notations? Also, these criminals are in my city and have my address.Our objective was to evaluate the U.S. I intend to visit my local post office, but I have to do it on Saturday and I want to go in with some prior knowledge. It's because the USPS stupidly doesn't ask for ID when a change of address is requested that these criminals were able to change our address at all. She said there was nothing she could do to keep this from happening again. She also told me she put in an exclusion, that we should put fraud alerts on our credit, and we can ask the local post office to put a notation on the carrier's case. She told me to submit a complaint because if you submit a report on the phone about a crime, for some reason, that doesn't automatically generate a complaint with the Inspector General for the crime to be investigated. She told me a few things, including the address of the criminals is in our city, and the form was filled out online. I went over all the information with her. However, a lady from the postal service did call me. We then went and filed a police report.Ĭustomer service was supposed to email me a confirmation number within 2-3 working days, but they never did. They would not give us the address, of course. Tuesday we went to the local post office and they pulled all the forwarding cards and told us that the criminals were using three very similar first names and our last name to forward our mail (think an Al, Allan and Albert Smith type situation). She said she would and we should visit the local post office and tell them not to forward the mail. I told them we did not submit the request and to cancel it. It was on a Saturday after the local post office had closed, so I immediately called the hotline.
